Editor’s note for Volume 1, Issue 9.
The IDPro Skills Survey continues to report that people in our industry take years to feel proficient in their field. The IDPro Body of Knowledge (BoK) is one way we as an organization are trying to break down barriers for IAM practitioners to feel more confident in their chosen field. We do that by developing freely available content by and for IAM practitioners on topics most relevant to the field.
In Issue 9, we have two new articles, Techniques To Approach Least Privilege by Matt Carter and Identity and Access Management Workforce Planning by Ken Myers. We also have a substantive update to the Introduction to Project Management for IAM Projects by Graham Williamson and Corey Scholefield and a minor update to An Introduction to GDPR by Andrew Cormack. Looking just at the Terminology document that collects all the terms described within the Body of Knowledge, we’re up to 240 definitions.
As usual for BoK articles, each new article was evaluated by at least two peer reviewers, the BoK Committee members, and the IDPro Board. The articles that underwent a refresh followed their own process to make sure the articles remain relevant and up to date. As always, I am deeply grateful to all reviewers for their time in making these articles a valuable resource for our industry.
As the BoK matures, we continue to focus on specific areas where articles are needed to complete Volume 1. We have an outline of the ‘ideal’ BoK Volume one available in our BoK-ToC GitHub repository . As you can see, we have pretty lofty goals for Volume 1!
